A Tailored Suit Will Make Her Melt
Summer is the season for various celebrations and events and is the perfect time to test out my long time theory. I know for a fact and they will all tell you, Noting is sexier to women than a man in a well tailored suit.
A well tailored suit is to women what lingerie is to men.
The common mistake men make far too often is wearing ill fitting suits. You suit should fit you properly and yeah in some cases you are going to have to man get it tailored or man up and buy a new suit. Over blowzy or billowy suite look super tacky and careless. High waters, ball huggers or the quintessential Chris Farley in _Tommy Boy_a little coat motif look cheap and unkept. So yeah just stop it. I recently attended a black tie event and saw so many dudes either choking or swimming in their suits.
The next big mistake men make is thinking a tailored suit is far out of their price range. It so doesn’t have to be and I’ll tell you how.
First things first… go get measured ASAP. This can be done at any larger department store or men’s furnishing store. Men’s Wearhouse, Macy’s, Brooks Brothers and Nordstrom’s are all great places to get yourself measured and properly fit for a suit and tailored shirts. Make sure to take notes on all your measurements. Most of these places will have great deals on suites and even though they a considered Off the Rack they all offer basic tailoring services at decent rates. If shopping at a big box store look to spend $300 and up but trust me it will be worth it. Many times you can score BOGO or BOGOHO deals through their email newsletters and sales.
Another killer place to looks for deals is at outlets, second hand shops and thrift stores. The benefit of salvage shopping is the quality of the jackets maybe slightly higher as most things they were just made better back in the day. When shopping used look for higher end brands because the panels are made for tailoring. Find yourself some nice second hand jackets and go get them tailored.
Check in your version of Downtown and Chinatown and you will find great tailoring shops. You may want to ask someone in your fam, we all have a sewing grammy or auntie.
Now for the fellas with a little heft: Double-breasted suits will not hide but attract unwanted attention to your belly bulge. Stick to two button single-breasted suits. Dark colors and un-pleated slacks will shape you properly. The classic Double-breasted look is only the the thin and wiry gents. Seriously!
Remember to check back later as we I’ll show you how to go about getting great deals on fitted custom tailored shirts. There are a few good tips on spotting good quality jackets too but that may require a video or photos.
