Spicebomb a Killer Fragrance - Review
They say the “Devil is in the Details” and this is very true when it come to finishing off a classy and stylish outfit with a solid and well balances fragrance like Spicebomb.
Although many gentleman wear fragrances, most do so without and thought or knowledge as to the ins and outs of mens scents. Here at High Society Man we are committed to making sure you have all the ammunition you need to make informed and classy decisions. We will be doing future post about all about fragrances but to start things off I’m going to do a quick review of one of my favorite new scents.
My experience and training has given me providence that we humans are truly sentient beings with our olfactory sense being one of the most powerful. I try to keep that in mind when selecting a fragrance. While on a shopping visit to my local Nordstrom’s my haberdasher and friend Peter introduced me to Viktor&Rolf’s newest mens offering called “Spicebomb.”
At first glance the package is amazing and brings directly to mind a powerful and masculine quality. How does one make that cognitive leap from looking at a bottle? Easy, Spicebomb is package in a metal and glass grenade. The presentation left me curious for sure especially knowing what I will smell in the store and what a fragrance wears like is a lost always totally different. Peter offered me a sample kit complete with eau de toilette and after shave balm.
Before I give you my input I want you to see what the perfumer Viktor&Rolf has to say about Spicebomb:
Spicebomb is born of the incendiary encounter between two accords with virtually opposing tones: the first is blending a heart of incandescent spices – chilli and saffron – with the all-masculine roundness of leather and tobacco, along with the distinguished brute strength of vetiver. The second is explosive, fusing fresh zesty notes of bergamot and grapefruit, Spicebomb is a burst of spices tamed by an enveloping freshness, a controlled surge of power.
Wow, impressive description and very enticing. To be hones the description is spot on. There is a strong duality with Spicebomb. It is bold and fresh, spicy and sweet, strong and controlled. I know my style of scents pretty well and with the base notes of vetiver, tobacco and leather I knew at first smell I was gonna love this. The middle notes of pepper and the fresh top notes of citrus make this a very strategic scent. The powerful base notes will get her attention and the top notes will relax and comfort her and bring her in.
I street tested Spicebomb by wearing it to the club and let’s just say it is a very huggable scent. I get so many compliments and extended hugs when I deploy this spicy grenade. Keep in mind that citrus and pepper are very addictive scents and don’t be surprised if she wants to keep your shirt when you leave. Ii is a little pricey but to me it is well worth the spend.
